Yup, that WAS fun…

Two groups of blue-clad racehorses zoomed up and down Doug Bruno court in a display of push-the-pace basketball. For most of the game, the #23 Blue Demons stayed within a hand’s length of the Huskies. Eventually, though, UConn pulled away for a 16-point win.
Equally entertaining, Madison Cable sealed #3 Notre Dame’s win over #10 Ohio State, 75-72. Me thinks the Buckeyes may be practicing their free throws this afternoon….
Speaking of UConn, Notre Dame and DePaul: Notre Dame plays UConn Dec. 5th and DePaul Dec. 9th. Wheeeeeeee!
#5 Maryland inexorably pulled away from #20 Syracuse, posting a convincing 82-64 win.
#6 Texas is not going to win any style points with their 53-47 win over #9 Mississippi State, but when you’re 6-0, who cares?
Strong second halves were key in #8 Tennessee’s win over East Tennessee State and #11 Kentucky‘s win over Northern Kentucky. Ditto with #21 Oklahoma’s win over Arkansas-Little Rock.
A strong second half by the Tar Heels made the score less painful (85-72), but it’s still an important program win for #15 (and undefeated) Northwestern.
Wow – Tennessee-Martin (3-4) gives Alabama (6-1) their first loss of the season, 83-65.
Arizona (5-1) does the same to New Mexico State, 68-64.
Miami did the same to Illinois, as the Hurricanes moved to 8-0.
Perhaps Gardner-Webb isn’t a fluke this year – they put the Big South on notice with their confident win over perennial conference powerhouse, Liberty.
I think I may have jinxed Lehigh. Sorry.
Tough start of year two for Dykes – after winning their first two games, Arkansas has lost five straight.
That’s Missouri at 8-0… let’s see what happens when they face Tennessee Jan 4th.
Gotta love those in-state rivalries: Colorado State over Colorado, 64-63.
